The Tom Calma Award

The Tom Calma Award recognises individuals (Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples) who have shown unwavering dedication to promoting equity, integrity, and the fundamental human right to health.

The inaugural winner of this award will be recognised at the Oceania Tobacco Control Conference on the Gold Coast, Australia on 24 October 2024.

Recipients of the award must demonstrate a commitment to improving public health outcomes, including advocating for systemic change in tobacco control to eliminate commercial tobacco related death and disease.

This award is supported by Professor Tom Calma AO and Yardhura Walani, the National Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Research at the Australian National University.
